Renowned Hotels & Resorts: the luxury program on United’s cards

Renowned Hotels & Resorts is the successor to Chase’s Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection, and it answers a question the recent card shuffle created: when the Sapphire Reserve got The Edit, where did the old luxury program go? To the United side of the house. Renowned rides on the United co-brand cards, meaning United Club, United Club Business, United Quest, and Presidential Plus, and books through Chase Travel, same as The Edit.

The package

The stay benefits are the familiar curated-program set: daily breakfast for two (at some hotels delivered as a breakfast credit), a property credit that runs $100 to $150 depending on the hotel, and a room upgrade with early check-in and late checkout when the hotel can manage it.

Unlike The Edit, there is no program-wide minimum stay. The package applies whether you stay one night or seven. That’s why Renowned prices on this site are per night, while Edit prices are two-night totals, and it is the single biggest practical difference between the two programs, since the hotels are largely the same.

The $200 credit

The top-of-the-line United Club and United Club Business cards add a statement credit on top of the stay package: up to $200 back each anniversary year on prepaid Renowned bookings. The other eligible United cards get the on-property package without that credit. The United lineup was reshuffled recently, so check your card’s own benefits page before counting on it.

Mostly The Edit, wearing a United badge

This is the thing to understand about Renowned. In the late-August 2026 data the list held 1,404 hotels, and 1,150 of them were also in The Edit. That is 82% overlap. The country mix is nearly identical too: 516 in the United States, then Italy, Mexico, the UK, Spain and France in the same order as The Edit. Same brands at the top, with Marriott at 211, Four Seasons at 125 and IHG at 124.

So if you hold both a Sapphire Reserve and a United Club card, the same hotel usually appears on both tabs here, and in both programs inside Chase Travel. The portal prices the two programs independently, and the credits differ, so it is worth checking the hotel under both before booking. For a one-night stay only Renowned works. For a two-night stay The Edit’s $250 credit is bigger than Renowned’s $200, but the Edit credit is used up after two bookings a year and the Renowned one renews on your anniversary date, so late in the year the answer can flip.

What the per-night view shows

Because Renowned prices are per night, its tab is where the cheapest single nights on Chase’s lists show up. In the late-August snapshot, 84 Renowned hotels had a cheapest upcoming night under $200 all-in and 316 under $300. The bottom of the list was things like Hotel Kansas City at about $127 a night in early January, Hotel Genevieve in Louisville at $129 for late August 2027, the Radisson Blu Resort in Split at $125 in November, and SO/ Uptown Dubai at $96 at the end of August. The median across the list was around $671 a night, and 134 hotels had no upcoming night under $1,000.

City by city, the medians were New York around $1,008, Paris $933, Tokyo $897, London $747, Washington $594, Las Vegas $424 and Atlanta $348. Those are all-in figures, with the local taxes and any resort fee added. Vegas looks cheap on that list partly because its resort fees are already inside the number, which is not how the hotels themselves advertise.

Worth knowing

Renowned is the second-smallest list among the card programs tracked here, ahead of only Citi’s Reserve, and it is the one that adds the least new territory: the hotels are almost all reachable through The Edit or FHR too. Its value is the card it sits on. If you already carry a United Club card for the lounge access, Renowned turns it into a serviceable hotel card for one-night stays, which The Edit never will be.
