Renowned Hotels & Resorts: the luxury program on United’s cards

Renowned Hotels & Resorts is the successor to Chase’s Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection, and it answers a question the recent card shuffle created: when the Sapphire Reserve got The Edit, where did the old luxury program go? To the United side of the house. Renowned rides on the United co-brand cards — United Club, United Club Business, United Quest, and Presidential Plus — and books through Chase Travel, same as The Edit.

The package

The stay benefits are the familiar curated-program set: daily breakfast for two (at some hotels delivered as a breakfast credit), a property credit that runs $100 to $150 depending on the hotel, and a room upgrade with early check-in and late checkout when the hotel can manage it.

Unlike The Edit, there is no program-wide minimum stay — the package applies whether you stay one night or seven. That’s why Renowned prices on this site are per night, while Edit prices are two-night totals.

The $200 credit

The top-of-the-line United Club and United Club Business cards add a statement credit on top of the stay package: up to $200 back each anniversary year on prepaid Renowned bookings. The other eligible United cards get the on-property package without that credit.

Worth knowing

Renowned is the smallest list among the programs we track, and it overlaps heavily with The Edit — many Renowned properties are Edit hotels wearing a second label. If you hold both a Sapphire Reserve and a United card, check the same hotel on both tabs before booking: the portals price independently, and the credits differ.
