The Premier Collection: Venture X’s quiet luxury program

The Premier Collection is Capital One’s curated luxury program, covering hotels, resorts, and a slice of vacation rentals, open to Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders and booked through Capital One Travel. It gets less attention than Amex FHR or Chase’s Edit, which is part of the appeal: the same idea, with quieter competition for the good dates.

The package

Premier stays carry daily breakfast for two, a $100 experience credit to use on property, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a room upgrade with early check-in and late checkout when available. Benefits apply per room, per stay, and there’s no program-wide minimum night count. A specific hotel can ask for more, but the program doesn’t. That’s why Premier prices here are shown per night.

Earning and credits

Bookings earn 10X miles on hotels (5X on the vacation rentals) through Capital One Travel. And the Venture X’s $300 annual travel credit applies to Capital One Travel bookings generally, the Premier Collection included, so a stay you were taking anyway gets cheaper by whatever credit you have left. There is no separate hotel credit the way Chase, Amex and Citi have one; the travel credit is the credit.

The cheapest list here, by the numbers

I didn’t expect this one. Across the seven lists this site tracks, the Premier Collection had the lowest median all-in nightly rate in the late-August 2026 data, about $463, against $534 for Amex, $620 for Bilt and $662 for The Edit. The median cheapest upcoming night was about $314. Of its 963 priced hotels, 177 had a night under $200 available in the coming year, 452 under $300 and 744 under $500. Only 32 had no night under $1,000, where The Edit had 142.

City medians tell the same story. London came in around $442 a night across 31 Premier hotels, against $747 on The Edit. Paris was $629 against $1,005. Barcelona $406, Singapore $415, Washington $371, San Francisco $333, Bangkok $304, Lisbon $368. New York was the one place it wasn’t cheap, at about $812, but that was still under every other list’s New York median.

Why it’s cheaper

The list is different in kind. Of 1,072 hotels, 823 carried no big-chain brand in the data at all, and the chains that did appear were IHG at 95, Accor at 83 and Marriott at 39. There were 732 five-star properties and 322 four-star ones. Compare The Edit, where Marriott alone accounts for 217 hotels and Four Seasons for 126. The Premier Collection has fewer palaces and more NH Collections, Hoxtons and Meliás, and the cheap end of the list is those: The Hoxton in Charlottenburg, Berlin at around $77 a night in late August, NH Collection Villa de Bilbao at $84 in January, NH Collection Dubai The Palm at $95, Public House Bangkok at $103, the Pan Pacific Hanoi at $104.

That is not a criticism. Breakfast for two and $100 to spend on property are worth proportionally more at a $250 hotel than at a $900 one, and the four-star Premier hotels are, in my experience of the list, the kind you would pick anyway in a city where you plan to be out all day.

Against FHR and the Edit

The package sits closest to FHR’s: the same $100 credit idea, the same breakfast for two. FHR still holds the one perk nobody matches, the guaranteed 4pm checkout, and a deeper hotel list, with 1,946 listings to Premier’s 1,072 and far more of Asia. The Premier Collection counters with a much cheaper card behind it, a travel credit that applies to any Capital One Travel booking, and a list that costs less to sleep in.

The overlap with the other programs is the lowest of any list here: 359 Premier hotels were also in Bilt’s HAFH, 276 in Renowned, 225 in FHR, 220 in The Edit. So most Premier hotels are Premier hotels only, which means the question of which portal to book through rarely comes up.
